About University Animal Hospital

Located in Tempe, Arizona University Animal Hospital was established in 1962. It is the second oldest veterinary practice in the entire east valley. The original hospital has since grown from two veterinarians and a staff of five, to 11 veterinarians and a staff of 80. The hospital moved to a new building in 1996 which was specifically designed and constructed to facilitate better care of small animals. 

At 13,224 square feet, our hospital easily accommodates our doctors, support staff, and our many clients. In our boarding facility we have 157 dog suites (indoor & outdoor) and 48 cat condos (indoor) available for owners to entrust their pets with us when they are away. Our facility won a national award from the Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition. 

Inside, our clients and their pets feel at home in the large reception area. We also have a children's play area with toys and games to keep the little ones occupied. Our waiting area has low dividing walls between seating areas to offer pets individual privacy while waiting.
