Iams pet food has announced a voluntary recall of selected dry cat and dog food. Iams has elected to recall specific diets due to a possible salmonella contamination at the packaging plant. To date none of the food tested have come back positive for salmonella and no pets have been reported ill from eating the specified foods.

We are inviting all our clients to join us in the 1st Annual Valley Fever Walk to Save Lives. This short walk will take place in downtown phoenix on November 1st and all proceeds will benefit valley fever research at The Valley Fever Center for Excellence at the University of Arizona. The center provides education and support to both Physicians, Veterinarians and the general public and is in need of funds to continue their research. Current research includes new drugs, a possible vaccine and improving diagnostic tests.
The news is out! Humans are no longer the only members of the family to be affected by mutating flu viruses. Just as swine flu mutated to infect humans, the horse flu has mutated to infect dogs. The horse flu has been around for over 40 years, but in 2004 it was identified as a newly mutated canine influenza virus. What began as isolated cases of infection has grown into outbreaks across the country. Unfortunately for our canine companions, they have no natural immunity to this new virus.
