Community Involvement
University Animal Hospital enjoys being involved in our community. Take a peek at what we've been up to!

Pets for Patriots

University Animal Hospital is a partner with Pets for Patriots, a nonprofit organization that helps members of the military community adopt homeless animals. From their website:

"We support member Patriot adoptions of adult shelter pets, large dogs and special needs animals – those most in need of a loving, forever home – from any of our member shelters. To ease the financial costs associated with pet ownership, we partner with veterinarians to deliver a minimum 10% discount for the life of the adopted pet’s care. Pets for Patriots provides access to additional cost reductions for pet basics, such as food, toys and essential supplies."

UAH offers military families a 10% discount on services if they bring their pet in to us, and Pets for Patriots gives the families money to start off with to help with food expenses and basic needs.

Angel Needs a Home

by +Tiffany | 03/27/2012 - 10:31am

Beautiful Shepherd mix is looking for the perfect home!

Angel he is extremely smart. She wonderful with children as well as dogs and cats.

She's a German Shepherd mix (possible Collie mix).  She's about 3 years old and weighs approx 50lbs. She's amazingly trained, though does have a high prey drive outside.

She would be perfect for somebody that is experienced with dogs and can give her the love, attention and boundaries she needs to be happy and healthy.

For more information contact Emily at 480-968-9275 ext 110 or email her at

Update: Angel has been temporarily moved to Los Angeles, but is still looking for a forever home.

Looking for a Forever Home

by +Tiffany | 03/27/2012 - 10:21am

Two sweet dogs looking for a home.  Will you take us home today?

Hi!  My name is Bear, and I love to be petted and hugged.  I am a mixed breed dog around 30 pounds, and totally black.  I will be two years old the end of July.  I enjoy walks (a lot), playing catch at the dog park (I will sit and wait for you to throw the ball if you say sit), chew ropes, toys, and going for rides in the car. I graduated from Beginner and Intermediate Education at Petsmart.  My trainer was very impressed with me. I do sit, lay down, shake, wait, stay, and a few other things.  I want to learn more.  Right now, I live with my sister and two sister cats.  I promise I will try to be the best dog anyone could ever want.

Hi!  My name is Bella, and I sometimes jump up because I’m so short and I want to make sure people can reach and pet me.  I am a mixed breed, around 18 pounds or so, and brownish black.  I will be two years old the end of July.  Bring me on a walk and I will sit, wait, and walk nice.   I will sit, stay, shake hands, and enjoy getting a treat every now and then.  I like running for the ball at the dog park when my person says “go for it Bella” and I like chew ropes, toys and going for rides in the car.  I graduated from Beginner and Intermediate Education at Petsmart and my trainer said what a smart dog I was. Right now, I live with my brother and two sister cats.
