University Animal Hospital has come a long way since it opened in 1962. Some clients may even remember visiting our veteran doctors at the building on Broadway. Let's celebrate 48 years serving the East Valley with a trip down memory lane.
When Dr. Gus first started at UVH in 1980 it was only him and Dr. Lindley. The hospital opened at 8:00 am and closed at 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 2 hour lunch break at noon, Saturday the hospital was open from 8:00 am to noon. Today UVH boasts 11 doctors including Dr. Gus and is open 7 days a week: Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
When Dr. Gus first came to UVH the hospital saw on average 20-30 clients a day, today we see an average of 100-120 clients a day.
At our old facility we could board 35 animals a one time, now it is over 200 on holidays including cats, dogs, exotic pets and special needs patients.
