General Health Information The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), established in 1933, is an international association of more than 17,000 veterinary care providers. This web site offers support and comprehensive information for owners of newly diagnosed and long term diabetic cats. This web site has a video library of information on health related topics such as dental disease, diabetes, cancer, lameness, spaying and neutering and many other topics. Pet Dental Care: This is a good site to learn more about the importance of good pet dental care for all aspects of your pet’s health. AVMA Care for Pets Home Page Site has information on many topic related topics including pet health, loss, selection and safety. The Electronic Zoo: This site categorizes and organizes veterinary, medical, and animal related information found online in an easy to use format.

Poison Control Arizona Drug and Poison Information Center: Tips for prevention and treatment of pet poising from medications, foods, plants and toxins and encounters with poisonous animals. National Animal Poison Control Center:  National Animal Poison Control Center (NAPPC), established in 1978, is the first animal-oriented poison center in the United States. Licensed veterinarians and board-certified veterinary toxicologists are available to answer questions.

Parasites and Zoonotic Diseases  The Center for Disease Control: This site offers information about zoonotic diseases (These are diseases that you can get from your pets) and anyone with HIV that is concerned about having a pet.  Guidelines on controlling internal and external parasites in dogs and cats. Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS): This site is another source for finding out about zoonotic diseases (those diseases that you can get from your pets). Look under their Education topics.

Health Certificate Information USDA web site for exporting animals out of the country. You will click on Animal Exports Regulations and then choose your destination country, read through the information and then print out the bilingual health certificate.You will need to set up appointments for all of the necessary requirements. offers helpful information on requirements for countries around the world.

Rescue Organizations R.E.S.C.U.E. - Maricopa County - Arizona: This organization rescue cats and dogs whose time has run out at the local pound. Volunteers bring animals home and care for them, preparing them for adoption into loving homes. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary: Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is the nation's largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned cats and dogs and other animals. Cow Cats Pet Adoption Center: Cow Cats Adoption Center is a free adoption listing for people trying to place homeles pets (all pets, not just cats).

Grief Support Grief Healing: This is a good resource for those suffering from grief from a pet or human loss.

Hill's Science Diet Hill's Home Page Web site from the makers of Science Diet® and Prescription Diet®. Site provides nutritional, health and life-stage information.

Breed Information The American Kennel Club (AKC) is a national organization devoted to the advancement and welfare of pure-bred dogs. The Cat Fancier’s Association Web site provides information on cat shows, breeds and care.
